ATR Media, the new owners of Oak FM, have made their first appointment by hiring Craig Strong for drive.
The company has also hinted at a rebrand by saying the future of the station is bright, but might not be blue (as per the station logo).
Craig is well know across the Midlands having been heard on Trent FM Nottingham, Gem AM East Midlands, Ram FM Derby, Century FM East Midlands, Leicester Sound and Mercia FM Coventry.
Speaking about the appointment Station Manager Mark Rowley said: “Craig is a perfect fit for where we want to take the station, both for his experience but also on air personality, we know how much our listeners will love his cheeky, friendly, knowledgeable style.
“So now they have our 2015 Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards nominees for presenters of the year Mark and Twiggy on Breakfast and a perfect reason to listen now on the way home as well.
“This is the first of a number of both On and Off Air changes we have planned, our new owners whilst new to the radio business have given us a clear indication where we need to take the station and both myself and Twiggy will be working hard over the next few months to make this happen. We both LOVE this business and have been given a now rare opportunity to shape Oak FM, the future’s bright but might not be blue!”
Meanwhile Mark O’Sullivan currently on Drive moves to cover 10 – 2pm. Craig Strong joins from the 14th September with a live Drive Show between 3 and 7pm Monday to Friday.
