The Richard Wheatly Lecture will feature Director of Economics at Spotify Will Page in conversation with Annie Mac.

Richard joined Jazz FM in 1995 following a career in global advertising and saw Jazz FM as a music business and not just a radio station. He died in April this year after a short illness aged 69.

It may seem odd to have someone from a music streaming service in a slot dedicated to a man who loved specialist music radio, but as I mentioned Richard was an entrepreneur and he would appreciate the twist. He also wouldn’t see the two as being mutually exclusive.

“This is a Festival where I think free thinking will flourish and Richard would like that.”

The Lecture will take place during the Radio Festival Showcase on Tuesday 29th September at 3.15pm, with coverage at
