Former BBC Radio 1 controller joins Vevo

Andy Parfitt, ex Radio 1 controller, is joining music video website VEVO as interim head of content and programming.

VEVO’s new chief executive Erik Huggers announced the news to staff, saying “The development and support of our content and programming organisation continues to be a top priority for me and for the organisation overall. The addition of Andy will add more velocity to out efforts to further differentiate in these areas for the future”.

Erik was previously an executive director at the BBC, and group controller for BBC Future Media & Technology.

Parfitt left BBC Radio 1 in 2011 after 13 years with the corporation. He joined Saatchi and Saatchi shortly afterwards as executive director of talent.
