Former workers of Red Dragon FM will be reuniting tonight to celebrate 30 years since the radio station launched in South Wales.
Red Dragon Radio started broadcasting on Oct 14th 1985; serving Cardiff, Newport and the surrounding areas. In 2011, the station became Capital FM, which still broadcasts from its base in Cardiff Bay.
Now, former employees of Red Dragon are getting together to celebrate the station with a reunion and are calling for anyone who worked at the station between 1985 and 2011 to attend the private party.
Matt, one of the event organisers, is confident that it will be a successful evening: “It’s fantastic to see so many of Red Dragon’s presenters, journalists, MD’s, programmers, account managers, engineers, ‘street crew’ and even cleaners and receptionists interested coming together to celebrate a radio station steeped in Welsh history”.
“I started in 2006, so I obviously can’t wait to see people I knew from my era, but it’s also going to be amazing to meet some of the founding members of the station who will be coming too!”
The party will be at The Attic on Mill Lane, Cardiff from 7.30pm today (Friday).
