Vanessa Feltz will replace Paul Ross and Penny Smith on BBC Radio London breakfast from January.
Paul and Penny will continue at the BBC but won’t be on Radio London each day, and Vanessa will continue her early breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 which finishes at 6.30am. Paul Ross will continue presenting elsewhere on the BBC, with Penny deputising on BBC Radio 2 and Paul’s daily programme on BBC Radio Berkshire.
For the past ten years Vanessa has presented the mid-morning phone-in show on BBC Radio London from 9am till 12pm. She’s excited with her new show: “I am bubbling over with excitement at the opportunity to present the BBC Radio London breakfast show and I hope my lovely listeners will be up bright and early to enjoy the thrills and spills of this brand new programme.”
Other changes to the schedule include Robert Elms from 10am to 1pm; Jo Good’s slot will be extended by an hour starting at 1pm to 4pm and Drivetime with Eddie Nestor will also extend from 4pm until 7pm.
David Robey, Editor BBC Radio London, said: “Vanessa is one of the biggest names in radio with her programmes on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio 2 so I’m delighted even more listeners can now hear her at Breakfast setting London’s news agenda as they wake. She’ll be challenging the decision makers and inviting her listeners to join the debate on the only breakfast news programme entirely dedicated to London.”
The new schedule will start on Monday January 4th.
