Ruth Wignall joins Nation Radio for breakfast

ITV Wales weather presenter Ruth Wignall is to co-host The Big Welsh Wake-Up breakfast show on Nation Radio.

Ruth will be joining Niall Foster each morning, in addition to her nightly weather bulletins on the television.

“Niall and I both like to talk so I’m sure we’ll generate a lot of heat on Nation Radio.“ says Ruth.

“I started my career on the radio and I just love the freedom it gives you. TV is fantastic but radio is very intimate and one-to-one and I like that. I’m a self-confessed weather obsessive which living in Wales usually means hours each day apologising for the rain!”

Neil Greenslade, Nation Radio’s programme director, says: “We love Ruth. She’s a real breath of fresh air. We want to put her on The Big Welsh Wake-Up so she can have fun with Niall and chat with listeners – as well as do the weather of course.”
