Iain Lee has broken his silence about his future in radio by announcing he’s got a new radio job lined up.
Earlier, Iain tweeted he’ll be back on the radio in March/April 2016, before deleting the post after being questioned if his new job is with UTV’s new national speech station, talkRADIO. RadioToday thinks it is.
talkRADIO is expected to launch around the last week in March, along with over a dozen stations on the second national commercial radio DAB multiplex.
The former BBC Three Counties Radio breakfast presenter then wrote a post on Facebook saying he can’t talk about his controversial departure from the BBC, but confirming he has a new radio job lined up for later in the year.
He said the breakfast show was the best show he’d ever done, until Down The Rabbit Hole, which he says was starting to shape into something wonderful and unique.
Iain has been working with Alex Lowe since leaving the BBC and writes about being depressed in his personal life. “I was on the cusp of depression before 3CR ended. Cusp? Nah. Looking back, I was in it. I was depressed. 3CR ending gave enough of a push to send me way way way over the edge,” he writes.
