A new online South East Northumberland community radio station will open its doors this weekend.
Beach Hut Radio will let people see behind the scenes this Saturday at its base in Blyth quayside offices from 10am to 12pm.
On Saturday 16th January a to let people see the “behind-the-scenes” set up and how they can get involved.
Based at Blyth Community Enterprise Centre, the volunteers provide experience and training in broadcast and media skills. The aim is to promote education, pathways, employment opportunities and inter-personal skills such as confidence, team building and motivational skills.
Director of Beach Hut Radio, Richie Ross, said: “We are on the lookout for volunteers who’ve always dreamt of playing their part in local community radio. Maybe you’ve had an ambition to hear your voice broadcast over the airwaves or even just wanted to get involved behind the scenes. Well the organisers of Beach Hut Radio in Blyth…need you!
“Beach Hut Radio is radio produced by local people for local people; and for anybody interested in listening to good music, stories and news from in and around South East Northumberland. We want people to get in touch with ideas for shows and to give their feedback about the station, as we plan to start as we mean to go on and that’s to provide an amazing service for our audience.
