Minster FM gives away over £10,000 of airtime

Minster FM is giving a boost to flood hit businesses across the station’s area.

The UKRD has so far donated £10,000 of airtime to help businesses and community groups get back on their feet following the Boxing day floods.

“We’ve been operating our North Yorkshire, Open for Business campaign since the first week of January and it will continue until York and North Yorkshire is back on top where it belongs,” said Programme Controller, David Green.

“Businesses and community groups can contact us by our website or by calling us once they’re open and we’ll promote them, in essence, if you’ve had a flood, you can have plug! As soon as the calls come in we break the format and get them on air, then we add them to our info bank and give them regular mentions.”

The total airtime donated so far exceeds £10,000 and will continue throughout January at least with the number of businesses taking advantage of the campaign increasing daily.

Minster FM’s disaster recovery plan saw them back on air within twenty minutes of the outage.
