Mollie Green is taking over the early breakfast show on BBC WM, whilst Smooth Radio’s Carlos joins for a weekly programme.
Mollie, currently hosting Saturday breakfast, will take over the daily show from Pete Morgan who is moving to BBC Radio Stoke for breakfast.
BBC WM’s Editor, Sarah Harness said “I’m really excited that Mollie is going to be part of our weekday line up and I can’t think of a better way to start the day.”
Mollie said “it’s the best time of the day and I’m really cheerful in the mornings so I can guarantee a smile at the start of the day. I really can’t wait to get going!”
Meanwhile Carl Emms, better known in the region as Carlos, will join the station for a new Saturday night music show playing music from the 60s to the 80s replacing Keith Middleton. He has been a regular stand-in presenter for the show recently.
Carlos tells RadioToday: “I’m really looking forward to playing the best selection of late night music, having a few laughs and getting the listeners involved too. I couldn’t resist bringing ‘Call Carlos’ back to the Midlands and giving everyone the chance to play their part in making the show special”
BBC WM’s Editor, Sarah Harness said “After Keith Middleton’s decision to hang up his headphones I’m really pleased to welcome Carlos back to the West Midlands. The show promises to be a bonanza of great music and chat with ‘Call Carlos’ making a comeback. I want to say thank you to Keith for doing such a great job on Saturday nights and hope we’ll hear from him on BBC WM again in the future.”
Carlos previously worked at BRMB, where he started the Call Carlos feature, plus Heart and Smooth Radio in Birmingham. He currently hosts drive-time on Smooth Radio North West.
You can hear Carlos every Saturday 10pm-1am from Saturday 16 January and Mollie Green every weekday from 5am on BBC WM 95.6
