Steve McKenna gets breakfast on Go Radio

Former BBC Radio 1 and Real Radio presenter Steve McKenna is joining the GO Radio team as breakfast host.

Steve has also previously broadcast on BBC Scotland, XFM, 5 live and Heart, and will be on the DAB station for Glasgow when it launches in the near future.

Programme Director Kevin Cameron commented: “It is fantastic to have Steve on board to wake up Glasgow. Once again we are bringing another extremely talented broadcaster to our team adding to the wealth of personalities in our line up. We have more experience in our St Enoch studios than any other station in the City.”

Steve says: “I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about starting at a station before! GO Radio Glasgow has the potential to be the most thrilling and revolutionary station I’ve ever worked at. It’s all about giving radio back to the people of Glasgow.

“It’s the return of local banter and fun, talking from, and about the city you’re based in. People want and need this and I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to deliver it.”

The daytime line up now includes Steve McKenna, Derek McIntyre, Suzie McGuire.
CEO Spencer Pryor added: “The interest from both the Glasgow public and our business community has been incredible and proves that Glasgow needs it’s radio back.”
The station launches soon on DAB, online and via the GO Radio app. Live test transmissions are now in progress.
