Bauer keeps Tony Blackburn Show on weekends

Following his exit from the BBC, RadioToday can confirm Tony Blackburn is keeping his show on Bauer’s Greatest Hits Network.

Commercial station kmfm is also happy to keep his contract running, in a week where the BBC has ‘sacked’ him for not believing his statement of events from incidents in 1971.

Tony has lost his programmes on BBC Radio 2, Three Counties, Radio Berkshire and Radio London this week. He planned to have a break from the radio for a couple of weeks but will be back on the City 2 Network – stations including Key 2, Clyde 2 and Metro 2 – next month.

A spokesperson for Bauer told RadioToday: “Tony Blackburn is currently on pre-booked leave – on his return, he will continue to broadcast his radio show on the Greatest Hits Network.”

Tony’s next radio show is on kmfm this Sunday at 4pm, albeit pre-recorded.
