The Bauer Academy is celebrating its 2nd birthday by launching a brand new free multimedia training programme.
#FindingTalent aims to build on past courses by providing learning opportunities immersed in the media industry, to people aged 17 and over.
In the last two years the Academy has provided training to over 5,000 people across the UK.
There is no entry requirement and courses are for absolutely anyone looking for their first steps into the media industry or to acquire media skills that could help them get the career they want – be that a mobile beautician or a radio producer.
Given the geographical spread of Bauer’s radio stations, the Academy is able to provide training in industry studios across the UK from Magic Radio, Absolute Radio, KISS FM and heat radio in London to Key 103 in Manchester, Radio City in Liverpool, Metro Radio in Newcastle, Hallam FM in Sheffield to Clyde 1 and Forth 1 in Scotland and beyond.
Courtnay MacLeod, Director of Bauer Academy, said: “#FindingTalent offers up an amazing opportunity to anyone seeking to acquire media skills within an actual industry environment. This is a highly immersive learning experience that’s open to all, irrespective of their age, location, previous qualifications or financial situation. The Bauer Academy puts everyone on a level-playing field and offers everyone a chance – and leads to amazing, life-changing opportunities”.
In addition to training courses, the Academy’s talent development programme has seen 56 students already progress through it and all are now working across the creative industries in radio, publishing and television. 26 of those are with Bauer Media, of which 9 are on air presenters on Bauer’s radio stations.
