The BBC has secured additional football coverage compared with last season – 5 live will be covering 144 matches instead of 128 last year.
5 live will have live football on Saturdays (early), Saturdays 3pm (1st pick), Sunday 4pm, Monday and Friday plus Bank Holidays and some midweek and Sunday games.
In addition, Mark Pougatch will host his last Saturday afternoon game tomorrow after 16 years, moving to midweek.
Jonathan Wall, Controller of Radio 5 live, says: “It’s great news that we can continue to bring our listeners the best live football coverage on the radio. We’re passionate about sport at BBC Radio 5 live, and I’m incredibly proud of the outstanding teams who consistently produce such insightful and engaging coverage of the Premier League.
“This is a great way to end what’s been a fascinating domestic football season, and we’re already looking forward to bringing our listeners all the best Premier League action next season. Before then though, we have a busy summer of sport ahead dominated by the European football championships, the Olympics and the Paralympics.”
