Giuliano, one half of the Free Radio Birmingham breakfast show with Foxy, has left the station.
The long running show has now changed to Foxy and Gemma – with show regular Gemma now taking on a more central role.
A message on Facebook received over 350 mainly negative responses, and said:
Hi Guys, we wanted to answer your questions about Giuls. Yes, he left the show on Friday and we’re all really sad to see him go. He said to us when he left that we should concentrate on waking you all up with a smile and trying to keep you entertained, so we’re going to give that a go. We’ll always all be best mates and hopefully we’ll speak to you in the morning too, Foxy, Gem and Simon.
A spokesperson for Bauer, which took over the station earlier this month, confirmed Giuliano had left the station: “Giuliano is leaving the Free Radio Birmingham Breakfast show and we thank him for his contribution to the show. Foxy will continue as anchor of the show and Gemma will take a more central role as his co-host”.
Foxy and Giuliano moved to breakfast in 2010 from drivetime after Jo Russell moved on.
