Andy Collins is taking over breakfast on BBC Three Counties Radio, as a full time replacement for Iain Lee.
Andy is best known for his work on the TV, as the warm up act for Strictly Come Dancing, Britain’s Got Talent and The Jonathan Ross show and has appeared as the comedy half-wit character in pantomimes at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
From September to December 2002, he also presented Family Fortunes, after Les Dennis and before Vernon Kaye.
Iain Lee left the six months ago under a cloud of controversy after *that* interview with with a Christian Concern campaigner.
Justin Dealey has been covering the breakfast show ever since.
“I’m looking forward to kick-starting the day for the people of Beds, Bucks and Herts. We’ve a number of new features which should put a smile on their faces first thing, while celebrating our wonderful county.”
Laura Moss, editor at BBC Three Counties Radio, said: “We’re excited to have Andy join our weekday schedule. He has a strong connection with the local area so I’m looking forward to hearing him establish a relationship with our listeners.
“I know he will be a real asset to the team.”
