Capital says sorry to Zayn fans at Summertime Ball

Zayn has cancelled his headline appearance, his first major UK solo gig, at Capital’s Summertime Ball just minutes before he was due on stage.

He has released a statement on Twitter explaining his anxiety has gotten the better of him meaning he can’t perform for the 80,000 audience at Wembley. Capital has also issued a statement to RadioToday about the news.

A spokesperson told us: “We’re very sorry we’ve just been told that due to illness Zayn will not be performing at today’s show. We know everyone’s already had a great day and enjoyed the 19 other huge artists’ performances but of course we’re all gutted that Zayn’s had to pull out tonight at the last minute.

“We’re sure Zayn will let his fans know what’s happened as soon as he can and we know everyone will join us in wishing him better.”

The event has been taking place today in London with coverage on the Capital network and Capital TV, with performers including Craig David, Little Mix, Ariana Grande, Tinie Tempah and The Vamps.
