Shelagh Fogarty quits Twitter after abuse

Shelagh Fogarty has tweeted she’s taking a break from Twitter for a while after receiving a day full of abuse.

The LBC presenter faced a backlash after her on-air comments about the death of Labour MP Jo Cox and the Scottish independence referendum were misunderstood. Shelagh later posted a transcript of her comments.

She tweeted: “I’m leaving Twitter for a while after a day full of this,” linking to one particular reply which has since been deleted.

For former 5 live presenter has 32k followers on Twitter and currently presents afternoons, 1-4pm on LBC.
