Sunday breakfast presenter Liz Ellis has joined Perry Spiller on weekday mid mornings at BBC Radio Stoke.
The station says Liz and Perry is a fizzy mix of topical news and a look at the lighter side of life. Listeners can expect some new surprises on air as well as Perry’s popular features.
Every day will bring a new guest with a tale to tell, the ‘Backwards Quiz’ for listeners to join in and John Acres will be out reporting from a different community each week.
BBC Radio Stoke Managing Editor, Gary Andrews says: “As far as I know no-one else is doing this sort of show on the radio at this time of day, so it’s exciting to try something new. But more importantly we think adding the chemistry of Liz and Perry’s friendship to an already great show will make it even better. Liz’s energy and perspective will make it a truly compelling listen.”
Perry says: “Liz and I have been good friends for many years. We have a laugh and a chinwag on a regular basis anyway, so we thought, “Why not bring it to the radio? I can’t wait to share the airwaves with my pal!”
Liz says: “I listen to Perry when I’m back from the school-run, having a tidy up, and he has me laughing and crying all the time. It’s going to continue to be gritty, but fun – with lots going on. Then there’s brilliant music sandwiched in there too.”
Liz will continue to present the Sunday Breakfast show from 6am till 8.30am each week.
