Robin Banks leaves JACK fm for Oman

After two and a half years at 107 JACK fm Berkshire, Robin Banks is moving to Oman to be the Content Director of HiFM.

“We know what Robin has done so when this opportunity arose we jumped at getting him on board”, said CEO of HiFM, Eihab Maqbool Al Saleh. “He has everything that we require to move HiFM onwards and upwards and keep us at number 1, we are delighted he said ‘yes’ to me”!

Gavin Harris, Programme Manager of 107 JACK fm had this to say on Robin’s imminent departure: “Robin gives a radio station an unfair advantage, which is critical in today’s world. He has the greatest passion and attention to detail I’ve ever seen and has been a key part in the success of 107 JACK fm Berkshire since launching in 2014, and we’ll be sad to see him go – but the British weather just can’t compete with the sunshine hours in Oman!”

Robin has worked in the UK for Kiss 100, Virgin Radio, XFM, BRMB, Star NE and others, and consults for stations around the world.

James Everton, former Assistant PD of Channel 4 in Dubai and The Hits presenter, is also joining the station.

Robin told RadioToday: “I’ve wanted to return to hands on programming. I’ve been to Oman a couple of times in the last month, the staff at the radio station are just awesome and I am so glad I managed to convince James Everton to come and help me out and more importantly so I can blame him for stuff! I sincerely can’t wait to get started”.

“It’s been a great near three years working for Jack, and I wish the guys continued success, I’m sure the office will be a bit quieter”.

Sue Reynolds, MD of JACK said: “With Robin it’s certainly not ‘Vanilla’ flavoured radio! What laughs we have all had, such fun times and I know we’ll all miss that, and I’m sure your loyal listeners will never hear anything quite like you again here”.

Robin starts his new post at HiFM on September 8th and is at 107 JACK fm until then.
