Kam Kelly has marked the arrival of his breakfast show on Sam FM Bristol by entering the city on a camel surrounded by Can-Can dancers.
The stunt is to highlight the networking of his Swindon breakfast show into the city, after the departure of Ian Downs .
Kam Kelly said: “I’ve waited for years to come to Bristol but I never imagined that I would be making my way home, over the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, on a camel surrounded by Can-Can dancers.
“Despite being one of the stranger experiences of my life it was a fitting start to my new breakfast show on Sam FM and I couldn’t be happier to be back in Bristol on the best station in town.”
Robert D’Ovidio, Group Programme Director at Celador Radio, added “I’m so excited that Kam is back where he belongs in Bristol on Sam FM. The new Kam Kelly breakfast show is packed with nothing but the best music on the planet. From Bowie and Queen to Coldplay and The Killers, the Sam FM soundtrack is the tune in your head.”
Kam was the breakfast show presenter at Galaxy 101 in Bristol across South Wales and the West for five years from 1997.
Ofcom approved a special case Format change request from Celador to share all programming between Sam FM Swindon and Sam FM Bristol in May 2016.
