Wire Free Productions has been commissioned to make BBC Radio 5 live’s new Sunday Evening show that reunites Jane Garvey and Peter Allen.
The company, run by former Director of BBC Radio Matthew Bannister and former BBC executive Husain Husaini, also produces the Mark Forrest/Georgey Spanswick show for BBC local radio.
Wire Free currently produce the social media chart show “The 5 live Hit List” presented by Emma Barnett. They also made a special series of programmes that included an as-live broadcast of a Heart Transplant that won the BBC Radio and Music Best Factual Production Award 2016.
They devised and co-produced “24 Hours at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital” and produced three editions of “Junior Doctors Diaries” that looked at the reality of life on the wards.
Matthew says: “We love working with 5 live and are delighted to be creating a new show on the network for two of the UK’s finest broadcasters.”
Husain adds: “One of the happiest memories of my career is working with Jane and Peter on breakfast and later on drive at BBC radio 5 live. Individually they are fantastic presenters, together they create unique radio. It will be a joy to work with them again.”
The show will start on November 13th 2016 and will usually run from 1930 to 2200.
