5 live wants kids for a new football podcast

BBC 5 live is looking for footy mad kids from all over the UK to contribute to its brand new Jamie Johnson Footy Podcast.

The podcast is billed as the UK’s first ever football podcast aimed at kids, and ties in with the CBBC TV show Jamie Johnson.

The first edition will be released on Wednesday 5 April, featuring the latest football news and talking points, all discussed by a squad of young fans, alongside interviews with some of the biggest names in the game.

It will feature a handpicked team of young football pundits from all over the UK, sharing their views, quizzing their football heroes and compiling their Team of the Week.

Jonathan Wall, Controller of BBC Radio 5 live, said: “Football is an essential part of our output on the station and we love the Jamie Johnson TV series, so it’s fantastic to be working with CBBC to make the first ever football podcast for kids. We’ve got the perfect host in Nick Bright and his team of young pundits are some of the funniest, most entertaining and knowledgeable football fans we’ve ever met – and of course they can probably get away with asking top players and managers questions that our adult reporters would never be able to get away with!”

Anyone interested should audition by uploading a short video of themselves here.

Hello. I’m very intrested on being involved in your new program. I love football and I play in a Sunday league team called st cleres. Also, I have a YouTube channel where I post football related videos. It would mean a lot to me to be considered taking part. I support West Ham united. Any replys please send back to the email provided. I hope to hear from you soon. Rhianna
