Radio Academy event planned with Liz Kershaw

The Radio Academy London and South East Branch is putting on an event with radio presenter Liz Kershaw.

The former Radio 1 presenter will be in conversation, talking about her long and varied career on national radio which started in 1987 when she submitted a mix of the interviews she’d done with bands at Radio Aire to Radio 1. In October they launched her Sunday afternoon pop magazine show Backchat which won a Sony Award six months later.

Her first radio show was in 1981 on commercial radio in Leeds where her brother Andy Kershaw worked for a time. In 1985 she moved to BBC Radio Leeds to present a weekly rock show showcasing local bands.

Liz is celebrating 30 years on BBC national radio in 2017, and tickets are available for the event on April 25th at The Chapel Bar in Angel, via this link.
