The Sun’s Dan Wootton joins talkRADIO

The Executive Editor of The Sun, Dan Wootton, has been given his own show on NewsUK-owned digital station talkRADIO on Sunday afternoons.

The show – called Dan’s Dilemmas – sees him team up with Dr Linda Papadopoulos to ask listeners to air their problems and receive advice from a team of experts.

talkRADIO says the 1-4pm programme will also feature ‘a mix of celebrity interviews and gossip, news of the day, and public phone-in topics’

Dan is a former Showbiz Editor for the News of the World and has run the ‘Bizarre’ page in The Sun for the last few years. Earlier this week he was named Showbiz Reporter of the Year at the Society of Editors’ Press Awards. He says: “I cannot wait to get to launch this new show on Sundays with Britain’s best psychologist Dr Linda. The line-up on talkRADIO is so exciting and I love appearing on the station with Eamonn and the team during the week, so an opportunity to host my own show at the weekend was too good to turn down. I’m looking forward to helping listeners and celebrity guests with their dilemmas.”

Dr Linda said: “I’m so excited to be working with the lovely Dan Wootton. What’s really great about the show is that as well as hearing about the stories that catch our attention every week, we’ll be discussing the psychology behind the headlines and giving our listeners the chance to call in and talk about how they’re affected and also gain insights on how to cope.”

talkRADIO Programme Director Dennie Morris said: “Dan is such a big hitter in the showbiz world and we’re simply thrilled to have him on board. Both he and Linda have a fantastic rapport on air and the show will the perfect blend of showbiz news, gossip and advice – listeners are in for a real treat.”

Dan has also been making a podcast series of celebrity interviews since last May.
