JACK fm to spend 27 hours in an Ice Cream Van

JACKfm will take its breakfast show, JACK’s Morning Glory, on the road for a 27 hour live broadcast from the inside of an ice cream van today.

Stopping at numerous locations across Oxfordshire, day-and-night, the breakfast presenters will be dishing out free Mr Whippy’s for anyone who asks.

They’re doing it to mark the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The show will start at 6am on Thursday 21st June and finish at 9am on Friday 22nd June.

Working with local ice cream business Oxford Ices, the station will rebrand the van so everyone knows the free ice creams are on JACKfm.

“We posted on Facebook about what we’re doing and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people requesting a visit – everything from hospital wards to care homes, fire stations to funeral directors – they all want in on the free ice cream!” says presenter Trevor Marshall.

“We’re operating a BYOF (bring your own flake) policy though, as the boss won’t give us enough budget to stretch to providing free flakes!” says Producer, Annabelle Buckland.
