Three Mercia presenters are supporting a new police initiative within local bars and clubs by recording messages from local sports stars.
Messages containing messages against drink driving, will be played out at the end of the night in clubs around Coventry.
Players from Coventry Blaze ice hockey team and Coventry Jets American Football team will pass on messages at the end of club nights to warn against drink driving, as well as messages played out to discourage becoming involved in fights and the dangers of carry weapons.
Mercia’s Programme Director Mike Newman said “Whilst we want people to have a good time when they are out and about it’s essential to be safe. We at Mercia are proud of our position within the community and are happy to help the Police wherever possible in protecting our listeners and the people of Coventry and Warwickshire.”
