Former Smooth Radio West Midlands Programme Controller and Heart 100.7 Programme Director Alan Carruthers is joining Celador Radio Broadcasting.
He’s taking up the position of Programme Director for The Breeze in Southampton and will oversee the entire Breeze network.
Alan has over twenty years experience in running UK radio stations. He started his career as daytime producer on Xtra am in Birmingham, before becoming Programme Manager a year later. In 1994 he moved to Heart, firstly as Operations Manager and subsequently as Programme Director. It was here, in 2003, that he won the ‘NTL Commercial Radio Programmer of the Year’ award.
He further progressed his career with a move to digital station The Arrow, where he achieved the best average listener hours of any digital music station. Most recently he was Programme Controller for Smooth Radio, West Midlands.
