Community, commercial and BBC local radio stations came together on Friday to celebrate Local Radio Day 2017.

Organisers behind the Community Radio Awards have teamed up with next month’s Local Radio Day.
Over fifty radio stations have now confirmed they will participate in this years’ Local Radio Day event.
The date for this year’s Local Radio Day has been confirmed as Friday the 26th May.
Local Radio Day has been hailed “a great success and a strong foundation upon which to build for the years ahead,” by UKRD’s Chief Executive Officer, William Rogers.
BBC Surrey and BBC Sussex have added their names to those already celebrating Local Radio Day on May 27th.
Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport, John Whittingdale, has endorsed UKRD's Local Radio Day and has commended the role local radio plays in the local communities it serves.
Friday 27th May is Local Radio Day for UKRD's 15 local stations, and the group is inviting other stations to get involved.
