Production 06 event sold out

The Radio Academy?s decision to revamp their Speech Radio and Music Radio Conferences this year has proved to be a massive success with the daytime event being completely sold out.

?We are delighted with the response we?ve had. There is a large list of people missing out because they did not register early enough, which just goes to prove that the interest in Academy events is as strong as ever.? Said John Bradford, the Director of the Radio Academy.

This year the event became one single new event, Production 06, offering direct hands on advice on delivering better programming right now. A team chaired by Mark Story, have devised a fantastic programme, hosted by Richard Bacon and Jane Garvey, with sessions from Valerie Geller & James O’Brien (LBC 97.3 FM) Sandy Beech (Music4), Ben Cooper (BBC Radio One), Mark Story (Emap), John Pickford (Key 103FM), Dirk Anthony (GCap Media plc), John Simons (GMG Radio), Clive Dickens (Absolute Radio), Christian O’Connell (Virgin Radio), Paul Jackson (Virgin Radio), Danny Baker (BBC London) amongst others.

Celebration of Music Radio limited places available

There are still tickets for the end of day ?Celebration of Music Radio? party, which will in the Caf? de Paris, near Piccadilly Circus, London. Phill Jupitus will be the host for the evening and lead the celebrations into the presentation of the prestigious Nielson Music Control Award for Most Played Artist on UK Radio, The PRS John Peel Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music Radio, The PPL Lifetime Achievement Award, Scott Piering Award, National Plugger Award and Regional Plugger Award.

To add to the fun there will be live music including Embrace, who will be performing on the night, amongst others. As well as the odd surprise appearance or two as anyone will know if they have been to past events. The cost of entry is ?25 and because of the limited number of places and they are on a first come first served basis available by registration only at http://www.radioacademy.org/production
