Richard Park given Tartan Clef award

Global Radio Director of Broadcasting Richard Park has been honoured with a ‘Tartan Clef’ prize at the Scottish Music Awards.

The prize was given to him this weekend for his outstanding contribution to the music industry.

Richard said: “It is an absolute honour to have been presented with such a prestigious award. The Tartan Clefs have really cemented themselves as a key event in the music calendar and it gives me great pleasure to be a part of it while supporting such a worthwhile cause as the Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy charity in Scotland.”

Now in its thirteenth year, the Tartan Clefs have become a landmark event celebrating Scotland’s internationally renowned music industry, and recognising those individuals who play such a huge part in contributing to it. Past award winners include: The Fratellis, Annie Lennox, Lulu and Franz Ferdinand, Wet Wet Wet and Biffy Clyro.

You can read an interview with Richard about his work on the Capital and Heart brands at Global Radio – as well as about his long career in radio – in the preview edition of RadioToday THE MAGAZINE which was launched earlier this month.
