Sean Bolger joins BBC Sussex and Surrey

Broadcaster and voice-over Sean Bolger is to host a new weekend show during the summer on BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey.

seanbolgerHe’s recently been covering at the BBC station but gets a regular slot whilst the football coverage takes a break.

Sean has previously worked for talkSPORT (when it was Talk Radio), LBC and Smooth Radio and will host Saturday 2-5pm.

Dave Cash’s show will also be extended by an hour to run from 5-8, with an extra helping of his Classic Countdowns.

Assistant Editor Mark Carter told RadioToday: “It’s great to welcome Sean to the station. He recently covered our Saturday mid-morning show and we had lots of positive feedback. By extending Dave, and with another radio veteran Graham Dene now continuing in his new weekly lunchtime slot from Midday, we’re thrilled to have such an experienced line-up to entertain our listeners.

“They’ll be lots of great music and conversation… The only thing we can’t guarantee is the sunshine!”

Sean told RadioToday: “I cut my radio teeth at Southern Sound in Brighton 30 years ago this summer, so it’s particularly great to be back on air with the BBC in Sussex, and having also spent many years living in Surrey, it feels doubly like I’m coming home.”
