Nick Clegg hosts LBC show from Salford

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg hosted his regular LBC show from Global Radio’s studios in Salford this week instead of London.

Nick also had a tour of the studios and offices, which has recently added Heart North West to its line-up after it changed from Real Radio and moved from its original home at Laser House.

Global Radio owns and operates XFM, Capital FM, Gold and now Heart from Exchange Quay in Salford. The Deputy PM met Ben Newby, Programmer for Heart NW and Capital Manchester, introduced¬†by Danny Thompson (pictured), Commercial Director for Global Radio in the North West. He told RadioToday: “He loved the site and was surpassed to hear that Global radio NW has a combined station reach (inc gold) of nearly 1.5million listeners.”

Danny continued: “Global North West regularly attracts high profile individuals but it’s always a special occasion when we see a Prime Minister like we did with David Cameron recently and of course the Deputy PM nick Clegg this week.

“Following his broadcast live onto our station LBC with “Call Clegg” he toured the new Heart studio and checked out our new and substantial commercial hub in the largest regional Global operational site.”
