Simon Morykin starts new show at Hallam

Former UTV Radio network evening presenter Simon Morykin has joined Bauer Media to host Hallam FM’s mid-morning show.

Simon has been working at Tower FM for the last two months on breakfast but decided to leave for Bauer in Sheffield instead.

Simon said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Hallam FM family! I love meeting people, going out, travelling to new local places, EATING and talking to as many different people as I can! One of the many amazing things about South Yorkshire is the people – and I can’t wait to play them the best music around right now, plus an hour of classics on the amazing Top 10 @ 10!”

Previous mid-morning show presenter Scott Makin leaves to join sister-station Radio Aire in Leeds, to present the home run show.

Hallam FM’s Content Controller James Lett said: “I’m chuffed to welcome Simon to the team. He’s a thoroughly lovely guy and a natural communicator. As Hallam FM turns 40 this year, his infectious zest for life will no doubt keep us going for another 40 years!”

Simon began his radio career at Tower FM in 1999 before joining Juice in Liverpool then moving to Galaxy in Manchester to produce Wes at Breakfast. He then joined Wish FM before moving to Signal to host evenings.
