Gary Stein to manage the Bauer City Network

Former Heart London Managing Editor Gary Stein is heading back to Bauer to become Group Programming Director of the Bauer City Network.

Gary left Global’s Heart last month after running the network for four years. He’d previously spent 17 years with Bauer and its predecessor Emap. During that time he held a number of positions including Programme Director at Sheffield’s Hallam FM and, for 7 years, Programme and Station Director at Key 103 in Manchester. When he left Bauer in 2013 he was Director of Music for Place North.

In other changes, Owen Ryan is appointed Group Content Director for the Bauer City 1 Network North and Scotland in another newly created role, and Chris Pegg will take on an expanded role as Regional Content Director, North West and Midlands.

Commenting on the appointments Graham Bryce said: “These appointments reflect the scale of the ambition and opportunity we see for our biggest radio brand, the Bauer City Network. The complimentary skills and experience that Gary, Owen and Chris offer will underpin and accelerate the growth of the network. We look forward to welcoming Gary back to the team”.

These appointments will commence in January 2018.
