Exclusive England cricket deal for talkSPORT

talkSPORT has won the exclusive free-to-air rights for England cricket’s overseas tour of South Africa in 2019/2020.

The news means talkSPORT is now the audio home for all of England’s major overseas tours for the next two years, including the full Sri Lanka and West Indies series.

The South Africa tour, including four Tests, have been taken from the BBC’s Test Match Special programme.

Wireless CEO Scott Taunton said: “Following England’s emphatic victory at the Oval and an emotional goodbye to Alastair Cook this week, we’re delighted to have won these rights in another big win for talkSPORT. This investment is a further commitment from us to this great game and these upcoming winter tours are set to be just as exciting as this golden summer of cricket.”

talkSPORT’s live overseas cricket coverage starts with the first ODI in Sri Lanka on October 10.

Later this month talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 will be broadcasting the Ryder Cup along with the third Anthony Joshua fight next weekend, exclusively on the station.

Recently talkSPORT announced a raft of new talent across its programming including Sir Bradley Wiggins and the voice of football, John Motson.
