BBC Radio 4 presenter apologises after Miriam Margolyes swears on-air

Actress Miriam Margolyes managed to squeeze in two swear words on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Saturday following an interview about Robbie Coltrane.

When the interview was finished, Miriam was talking about what she thought about new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, who’d be on before her.

At the end of the chat, Miriam told presenters Justin Webb and Martha Kearney about how she had greeted Mr Hunt.

She said: “When I saw him there I just said “you’ve got a hell of a job, the best of luck”, and what I really wanted to say was “f*** you, you b*****d” But you can’t say that.”

Justin Webb added, “We’ll have to have you out the studio now,” whilst Martha Kearney apologised for the slip.
