Hospital Awards 2008 launched

This years National Hospital Radio Awards have been officially launched, ahead of the HBA's Autumn Conference being held in Solihull this coming weekend.

HBA Deputy Chief executive Iain Lee is again organising the awards this year, while the Lincs FM Group's Director of Programming Sean Dunderdale will, for a second year, be producing the awards ceremony – being held next March at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.
This year there are just ten categories that can be entered with two being dropped from the awards. The Best Sport Category has been removed, after very few entries were received for it last year. Meanwhile, the Special Award for Outstanding Contribution has also gone as it was felt the category was too similar to both the HBA Volunteer of the Year and the prestigious John Witney Awards.
Sean Dunderdale told RadioToday: "I'm excited about returning to Blackpool for our second awards ceremony. We have taken onboard many of the positive comments made following our first ceremony earlier this year in Leeds and look forward to building on that success and, once again, helping to kick start Hospital Broadcasting Week 2009."
The closing date for entries is Friday December 12th and full details can be found at the official Hospital Broadcasting website hbauk.co.uk
