Birdsong +1 launched on DAB

Following the closure of digital radio station theJazz, GCap Media has made use of spare capacity on Digital One by introducing a catch-up service for the Birdsong.

Birdsong +1 is a time-shifted version of the original Birdsong channel, first recorded in 1992 to provide test transmission audio before the official launch of Classic FM.
The Birdsong channel offers various bird and background noises, including a cow mooing, a horse snorting and a french horn. This extra channel will be the first time listeners will be able to catch-up on any missed farm yard noises.
Birdsong return at the beginning of 2008 following the closure of Oneword. It was last heard in 2003 when ITN News Radio closed.
