Express FM presenter joins forces broadcaster

Portsmouth community radio presenter Jason Webster is to join the BFBS team in the Falklands Islands for a year.

The Express FM drivetime presenter was recently named Best Newcomer at the station’s own awards evening.

Jason has been co-presenting The Big Drive Home with Liam Howes for only the last 6-months. “Liam and I have achieved a lot in the last 6 months and it will be weird doing a show on my own but I have learnt so much since being at Express FM I’m sure I’ll be fine,” he said.

He only joined 8 months ago, but won the Audience Recognition Award as well as Best Newcomer at the community station’s Express FM Awards this year.

Station Director Cheryl Buggy told RadioToday.co.uk she was sad to see Jason leave, but that she was elated that he’s progressing in his chosen career. “Express FM is all about championing creativity, raising aspirations and celebrating success,” she said. :Jason is a prime example of this and everyone here wishes him all the best.”
