Global Radio has hired classical music star Katherine Jenkins to host a new 12-part Sunday evening show, starting in June.
The Katherine Jenkins Collection will be an exploration of the music Katherine believes is the perfect introduction to the classical genre.
Katherine is currently on a 22-date UK and European tour, co-headlining with Il Divo but will start her stint on Classic FM on Sunday June 9th at 9pm.
“I’ve listened to Classic FM for years, and the station has been a great friend to me throughout my career – so I’m delighted to now be joining the team as a presenter,” Katherine said.
“This new series will hopefully do what Classic FM does best: introduce many people to classical music for the very first time, whilst also offering something special for those who are already familiar with this wonderful music. I can’t wait to get started!”
Classic FM’s Managing Editor Sam Jackson said: “Over the last decade, Katherine Jenkins has performed classical music to millions across the globe. Like Katherine, we believe in sharing this music with as wide an audience as possible, and we’re delighted she’s joining us to present this new series.”
Katherine previously did a one-off show on the station at Christmas.
