It won’t exactly be the Radio 1 Roadshow of old, but this summer MediaCityUK in Salford Quays will be host to some live outdoor shows.
Events include a musical weekend with 6 Music and Radcliffe and Maconie One-Date Roadshow.
It’s part of the MediaCityUK Summer in the City promotion, which also includes CBBC and CBeedies hosting live television shows.
Craig Charles kicks off the radio shows on August 10th with BBC Radio 6 Music’s Soul and Funk show, featuring a DJ set from Craig and live performances from funk band The Haggis Horns.
And then on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August Radcliffe and Maconie will host their BBC Radio 6 Music show live from the Radcliffe and Maconie One-Date Roadshow, featuring live sessions from The Go! Team, a special live version of The Chain and other special musical guests at 1pm.
They will then hand over to BBC Radio 5 live who will be celebrating the start of the football season with the biggest ever 5 Live 606 Fans Forum hosted by Mark Chapman and Robbie Savage.
All events will take place on the Piazza at MediaCityUK
