Dutch jingle company Pure Jingles has made new imaging for BBC Radio 1, after beating more than 20 other companies to win the contract.
The production has recently gone live on air with 21 cuts which will be updated every three months.
A spokesman for the company said: “BBC Radio 1 sets trends for radio brands all over the world. It has a reputation for breaking artists, hosts some of Britain’s biggest DJs and is usually the first major station on the planet to dive into trendsetting music styles. We’re thrilled to be associated with the station and help them with new IDs.”
Radio 1 gave Pure Jingles the challenge to come up with imaging that has a strong musical identity and, at the same time, can be placed over existing song intros to create flow.
The firm says its composers first worked on longer tracks in different music styles, which were chopped down by a producer to short stings. We’re told the team went to town on EQ-ing, distorting, crunching, vocoding, and editing the station’s voiceovers.
