Sunrise Radio MD Tony Lit MBE has won the Outstanding Sikh Award 2023.
The event, held in Birmingham last week, celebrates the strength and achievements of the British Sikh community over the last year.
Tony Lit comments, “I’m honoured to be selected as the winner of the prestigious Outstanding Sikh Award 2023, and I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all those who have supported me over the years.
“To be recognised for the positive role and achievements you have made in your area of expertise and the wider community is wonderful. I’m proud of my heritage and what the Sikh community has achieved in the UK, and I’m sure these awards will further encourage the community, and future generations to strive to be their best in their field and dream big.
I would also just like to congratulate all the finalists and winners of the British Sikh Awards 2023 and their contributions to the community across the country.”
Nominations for the different award categories were received from across the country and 300 of the most outstanding British Sikhs were shortlisted as the finalists, with the award categories recognising a wide range of achievements that have had a positive impact on business, charity, sport, arts, culture, religious advocacy, education and medicine among others.
