Xbox join ‘redefining radio’ discussions

The European boss of Microsoft’s Xbox Live has been added to the line-up for a digital event in parliament next week hosted by Absolute Radio.

The invite-only business breakfast event features speakers from the digital and audio industries as well as the Culture Minister Ed Vaizey.

Absolute Radio says the Redefining Radio session aims to “demonstrate to decision-makers the emerging opportunities the internet has provided to radio, its ability to transform the medium as it moves from linear broadcast on one device – to unique audio content delivered via multiple platforms.”

Xbox Live General Manager Rohan Oommen joins a list of speakers that also features Karla Geci from Facebook, Tim Davie from the BBC, Clive Dickesns from Absolute Radio and comedian and broadcaster Dave Gorman.

Absolute Radio Chief Operating Officer Clive Dickens said: “Xbox has revolutionised and redefined the gaming market – ‘Redefining Radio’ aims promote thought-leadership to push radio into a new connected and logged on age, so the vision and experience Xbox brings to our event is invaluable.”
