PURE Digital is delighted to report that continuing retail initiatives, the support of the trade, increased marketing investment and its expanding product line have combined to keep the brand at the top for DAB digital radio in the run up to Christmas 2005.
According to GfK in Oct/Nov (latest published data), PURE was the number one brand in both DAB as a whole and, specifically, in DAB portable radios. PURE continues to lead the portable radio category with over 30% of the entire market by value. PURE enjoyed significant increase in sales in all categories within the UK market in 2005 including a year on year increase in sales in value terms of almost 35% into the independent sector during Oct/Nov.
According to PURE its business had a record seasonal period with sales from September to December increasing by over 50% of last year?s level.

DAB digital radio has been a terrific success in the UK with nearly three million sets estimated to be in use at the end of 2005.

This continued success for PURE in it’s native UK market has also been reflected with significant growth in export markets, which now account for over 10% of PURE’s total DAB business. PURE export sales almost doubled in 2005, ensuring PURE Digital, a British company, is the pre-eminent brand for DAB products on a global basis.
