    July 29, 2017 from 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Scott Mills and Ana Matronic present a special concert live from the City of Hull celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. This was a piece of legislation that would transform the lives of millions, and give birth to an explosion of music, poetry, writing and art.

The concert will feature artists including Will Young, Alison Moyet, Marc Almond, Bright Light Bright Light, Gay Abandon, Noah Stewart and musician and BBC Radio 6 Music presenter, Tom Robinson.

Listeners can expect an evening of anthems, torch songs and celebration, with performances of songs including YMCA, Whispering Your Name, I Feel Love, Lavender, Born This Way, I Am What I Am and Glad to be Gay. Plus readings ranging from Oscar Wilde to Alan Hollinghurst.

Staged at the Hull City Hall right in the heart of the City of Culture, this concert is part of Gay Britannia, a season of programming across BBC Radio and television which marks the 50th anniversary of The Sexual Offences Act 1967.
