UTV Radio-owned Talk 107 has commenced test transmissions on 107.0 Mhz FM from Edinburgh.
Set to launch on Valentines Day, February 14th, the speech based station will target the 40+?s and will be the UK?s 1st ever local commercial speech station outside of London.
Talk 107 will serve one million adults across East Central Scotland. The station was one of the first to win a licence under new regulator Ofcom on December 16th 2004, along with 107 The Bee which commenced broadcasting on October 1st 2005.
Research has shown that the East of Scotland, and Edinburgh, has a large appetite for speech radio ? which is currently not being realised ? 30% of all radio listening in the UK is to speech radio.
