Paul Chantler joins United Radio

Radio consultant Paul Chantler is to be a Senior Partner at the new radio support organisation United Radio.

Paul Chantler has been in the UK radio industry for 22 years and has won many programming awards. He specialises in programming and journalism, and was recently part of the team that won the Plymouth radio licence with rock music station Diamond FM. Currently, Paul is working on the station’s launch, together with new applications backed by Australia’s Macquarie Bank.

Paul Chantler said: “When Mark Briggs first told me about his vision for United Radio, I immediately felt it was something I wanted to be a part of. By pooling complementary skills under one corporate brand, we can offer the radio industry outstanding resource, expertise and value – all from one point of call. Nobody else is doing this. We are developing fresh, dynamic products and solutions that will break new ground. I’m very excited about United Radio and look forward to working with Mark and a growing number of other partners at United Radio.”

United Radio CEO Mark Briggs added: “Paul is one of commercial radio’s top consultants. By joining as a Senior Partner, he brings his outstanding skills in strategic programming and training and also valuable expertise in writing winning licence applications. It’s absolutely great to welcome him to United Radio.”

He is co-author of the best selling textbook Basic Radio Journalism and he regularly works with the major radio groups. His consultancy work for Macquarie will continue alongside projects for United Radio.
