RTI celebrate first birthday

RTI will be celebrating their first birthday tomorrow (April 9th). The RTI network of started broadcasting at 8.00pm CET on April 9, 2005 with its launch show being aired from AquaCity, Poprad, Slovakia. Since that time RTI has been the host broadcaster for a number of excluisve events, including the Arash Beach Party, and more recently welcomed Slovak Prime Minister Mikulas Zdurinda to the station, just days after UK Prime Minister Tony Blair was on RTI.

The station has also seen some of the greats of the music world on the station including bands such as Saga, Deep Purple, Gladiator, Arash and more.

RTI has done an amazing job collecting hundreds of toys for underprivileged children, assisted in a major road safety campaign and even reunited a WWII veteran with the family who protected him after he bailed out of a blazing plane in the 1940s.

Eric Wiltsher, Director RTI, told RadioToday.co.uk: ? As our Chairman Jan Telensky puts it, if you have the right team doing there best then they can do anything ? and our small team have demonstrated all those qualities and have achieved a great deal in 12 months. The team have proven that you don?t need dozens of people to make quality programmes. Using the very latest broadcast quality ideals ensures RTI is ready for the digital age whilst still supporting the ageing analogue systems. I?d like to thank all our listeners and supporters for the past 12 months and welcome them to the next year of fantastic, bright, engaging radio which is at the core of RTI?.

Listeners and web site visitors will have a chance TO WIN a very exclusive RTI anniversary t-shirt. However, you?ll have to be listening to win!
